Private Pay.

Steps Homecare Services also offers companion care, personal care, and some private nursing services for individuals who choose to self-pay. You or your loved one, may not be covered for these services under your medical insurance, so families or clients can directly arrange and pay for the care they want. For current rates, reach out to Steps Homecare Services for details.

Private Insurance.

Most private health insurance plans have a Home Health benefit that includes some or all of the services provided under Medicare and Medicaid — though coverage, copays, and eligibility vary by insurer. Steps Homecare Services can help verify your insurance plan and work with your company to offer you the best possible coverage.

Long-Term Care Insurance.

Many long-term care insurance policies will pay for personal care or private care services, but certain requirements must be met. The Steps Homecare team will help you determine if your home care services qualify under your long-term care insurance plan.

Medicaid.

Medicaid health insurance can help if you can’t afford to pay some or all of your medical bills, but you must meet your state’s financial eligibility requirements. For most people, Medicaid covers many of the same services as the Medicare Home Health Benefits (like skilled nursing and therapy) when eligibility is met.

Medicare.

Medicare’s Home Health Benefit may pay for skilled nursing care, physical therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, and other home health services when all of the following are true:

  • You are homebound and leaving your home requires significant effort or assistance.

  • The care is medically necessary and ordered by a physician.

  • The care is part-time or intermittent.

  • Care must be provided by a Medicare-certified home care agency.
